NSBA Foundation, Trainer Crisis Fund, Back To Berrien

Attendees of the 2026 Back To Berrien horse show were generous with their donations and their bids to the annual live auction that has become a tradition since the show started. Following a bar-b-cue dinner sponsored by Super Sires, the bidding was fast and furious for items that ranged from home-made moonshine to jewelry, working tack and show items to two of Cliff Hartman’s bred Angus cows and breedings to Enticed and Icee Hott to a basket of designer purses. When the final bids were tallied, the auction raised $56,000 for the NSBA Foundation’s Trainer Crisis Fund.

“It always amazes me the generosity of people,” noted announcer-turned-auctioneer Peter Cannizzaro who facilitated the sale. “When we ask people to donate and to help raise money for the Crisis Fund, they always step up."

Among popular items in the auction was a free Cutting lesson with NCHA Hall Of Fame Trainer Wesley Galyean, to be held the Galyean Ranch during the 2026 NSBA World Championship Show, a guided fishing trip in Montana and a basket full of brand-name designer purses. Breedings to stallions Enticed and Icee Hott, as well as an embryo out of Bestseatnthehouse were also bid heavily. The auction also featured several gift certificates for boots and hats, and a number of additional items.

“The NSBA Foundation is grateful to the organizers of Back To Berrien for including the fundraiser as part of their annual show, as well as to all those who donated items and bid generously,” noted Bob Kennedy, 2026 NSBA Foundation chair.
