Ranch Breeders Championship Futurity

How It Works

The Ranch Breeders Championship Futurity (Ranch BCF) is designed to appeal to engage breeders, owners, trainers, and exhibitors by offering a full slate of Ranch classes with generous paybacks. This event will be held annually in conjunction with the NSBA World Championship Show, Breeders Championship Futurity (BCF), and Color Breeders Championship Futurity (Color BCF).

The Purse

The purse is funded by stallion nomination fees and horse enrollment fees collected for each foaling year. Funds follow each foal crop as it progresses annually through the program.

Payouts

Earnings from the Ranch BCF are shared among key stakeholders through the horse's show career:

  • 20% to Stallion nominator
  • 10% to Horse nominator
  • 70% to Current Horse Owner

Each dollar earned in the Ranch Breeders Championship Futurity competition is distributed according to this payout structure.

Eligibility

To participate in the Ranch Breeders Championship Futurity (Ranch BCF), a horse sire must be sired by a stallion nominated to the Ranch BC for the offspring’s yearling year. Eligible horses born in 2023 or later may be enrolled at any time through their three-year-old year.

Stallion Nominations

Stallion owners must be current NSBA members, and pay an annual $500 fee by May 15 of the foal crops yearling year to nominate their stallion. After May 15 of the foal crops yearling year, the nomination fee increases to $800 and can be paid at any time to make any foal crop eligible.

Horse Enrollment

Horses can be enrolled online or by mail. Enrollments must include:

  • Complete enrollment form
  • Payment
  • A copy of the horse's breed registration papers showing current ownership

Once validated, a digital NSBA Certificate of Registration will be emailed to the current owner.

Competition

The Ranch Breeders Championship Futurity (Ranch BCF) will make its debut at the 2026 NSBA World Championship Show, held alongside the Breeders Championship Futurity.

The program will launch with a Three-Year-Old Open Ranch Riding class in its inaugural year and will expand annually as enrolled horses progress in age. By 2028, the Ranch Breeders Championship Futurity will feature a full slate of 11 Ranch classes.

Ranch Breeders Championship Futurity enrollment meets Certificate of Registration requirement.
