Breeders Championship Futurity

Each year, the Breeders Championship Futurity (BCF) pays out an estimated $350,000 in prize money across its classes. Designed to appeal to breeders, owners, trainers, and exhibitors alike, the BCF offers a wide range of classes and generous paybacks.

Held each year annually in conjunction with the NSBA World Championship Show, the BCF allows enrolled horses to compete from yearling through six years of age.

Purse Distribution

  • 20% to Stallion nominators
  • 10% to Foal nominators
  • 70% to Foal owner

(All recipients must be a current NSBA member of NSBA to receive payouts)

Eligibility

To be eligible for the Breeders Championship Futurity Eligibility (BCF), a horse must be sired by a stallion nominated in the foaling year. Eligible foals can be enrolled anytime from weanling through three years of age.

Stallion Nominations Fees (per foaling year):

  • $500 – if nominated By May 15th of foaling year
  • $800 – if nominated After May 15th

Foal Enrollments Fees:

  • $125 – if enrolled By December 15th of foaling year

(Sliding scale available for multiple foal enrollments)

  • $200 – if enrolled between By December 16th -and May 15th of yearling year
  • $1,000 if enrolled After May 15th of yearling year
  • $2,000 – During the Two year old year
  • $3,000 – During the Three year old year

Classes Offered

A total of 34 classes are offered during the Breeders Championship Futurity, featuring Longe Line, Western Pleasure, Hunter Under Saddle, Trail, and Western Riding in Open, Non Pro, and Limited divisions

Note: A $45 transaction fee applies ownership transfers, horse name changes, and duplicate certificates. A copy of the horse’s registration papers showing current ownership must accompany any transfer request.

Any Program enrollment meets Certificate of Registration requirement. Enrollment provides the additional opportunity to earn money through the Breeders Championship Futurity, Color Breeders Championship Futurity, Ranch Breeders Championship Futurity, and Incentive Fund.
