What is a Certificate of Registration
Formerly known as the Certificate of Eligibility, the NSBA Certificate of Registration is required for all horses shown in NSBA classes.
If your horse is already enrolled in the Breeders Championship Futurity (BCF), Color Breeders Championship Futurity (Color BCF), Ranch Breeders Championship Futurity (Ranch BCF), or Incentive Fund Program, you already have this Certificate. If not, you can obtain one by registering your horse with NSBA. Register your horse HERE.
Where do I need to show my Certificate?
All horses competing in any NSBA sanctioned class must be registered in the current owners name.
Show management will request to see:
- a copy of your certificate of Registration
- a current NSBA membership card for both the owner and exhibitor
How do I get a Certificate for my horse?
If your horse is not already registered:
- Submit a copy of the breed registration papers (if still pending, a "Pending" registration is acceptable)
- For horses not registered with one of NSBA's eight alliance partners, registration via microchip is accepted
- A one-time fee of $45 applies (for cash/check payments) Register your horse HERE
What if I lose my Certificate or need to Transfer ownership?
You can request a:
- Duplicate Certificate
- Transfer
Both services require a $45 free and a copy of the current breed registration papers showing updated ownership.
Do I need to renew the Certificate annually?
No. Once your horse is registered with NSBA or enrolled in the Breeders Championship Futurity, Color Breeders Championship Futurity, Ranch Breeders Championship Futurity or Incentive Fund Program, you're covered. Registered your horse HERE

Do I need a Certificate for the NSBA World Championship Show?
Yes.
All horses competing at the NSBA World Championship Show must have a Certificate of Registration. If your horse is already enrolled in the Breeders Championship Futurity, Color Breeders Championship Futurity, Ranch Breeders Championship Futurity, or Incentive Fund Program, you're covered.
